We had such an exciting ride with THE TREATMENT. When four of us saw it in the market at the Cannes Film Festival last year, we just knew that we wanted it. It was gripping, exciting and proper edge of your seat drama. Since then we’ve had a real journey to bring it to the audience. Getting involved with Mo Hayder (the author of the original novel) and the publishers, who have been brilliant at pushing information about the film out to the fans of the Mo’s books.

We’ve frightened cinema bookers and fans alike with this film (which almost was cut by the BBFC to ensure we got an 18 cert, but after discussions between us, the producers and the BBFC, it was agreed that the uncut version of the film was fine to release to audiences), played at Glasgow FrightFest (where the film was sold out and proclaimed the best film of the festival), opened Duke Mitchell’s DukeFest in London at The Prince Charles Cinema and then released in August when director, Hans Herbots and lead actor, Geert Van Rampelberg came for a flying visit and some brilliant Q&As.

The highlight was probably doing a Q&A at The Ritzy in Brixton (where Hayder’s original novel was set) and true fans came along to a screening on a Saturday evening (on of the last hot days of the Summer) and threw themselves in Hans’ adaptation of Mo’s world. Then one of the ladies in the audience said that Geert was exactly what she imagined the lead character would look like. Brilliant.

Now we come to the DVD, Blu-ray and On-Demand release. Many were afraid of this film and didn’t want to show it but after receiving rave reviews and playing to massive audiences we know more than ever that this is one of the most exciting crime thrillers of the year.
