Rodrigo Barriuso is a Cuban-Canadian filmmaker whose areas of interest include writing, directing and producing. He studied film in Toronto, Canada and London, England. With a background in art theory and many years spent employed at art galleries, Rodrigo’s cinematic approach is influenced by the conceptual and aesthetic values that often inform the art world. For Dorian is Rodrigo’s first narrative film, for which he received the Norman Jewison Filmmakers Award 2012, an Honorable Mention at the UK Film Festival 2012, the Lindalee Tracey Award in 2013 and the Best Canadian Film Award at the Inside Out Film Festival.
