Maya has shot close to fifty short films and has had her work screened in over one hundred international film festivals. In 2010, she was selected to participate in the Berlinale Talent Campus during the 60th Berlin International Film Festival. Maya has shot numerous documentaries including Deadman, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2009. Other notable short format titles include Broken Heart Syndrome, Pathways, The Pedestrian Jar, Soap (all at TIFF), Three Walls (Hot Docs ’11, AFI Silverdocs ’11 and winner at the Atlanta Film Festival ’11), and the Bravo! FACT funded dance film Slip, which garnered awards for Best Experimental Film and the Kodak Award for Best Cinematography at the Canadian Film Centre’s Worldwide Short Film Festival. Selected feature film credits include The Chester Kids (Canada International Film Festival Rising Star Award, ‘11), A Touch Of Grey (Cinéfest Sudbury ‘08) and The Other Sister.
