Description

1987  New York City, Brighton Beach, aka ‘Little Odessa’.

David (Samuel H Levine, THE INHERITANCE) is a young and handsome man, confined by the rules his conservative Russian Jewish immigrant community in New York. Moving in with his grandfather he befriends their new neighbours, a closeted gay couple; survivors of the Holocaust. The friendship opens up his imagination to the prospects of love and same-sex desire.

David soon starts to explore the intoxicating East Village, a world teeming with the vibrance of youth and forbidden gay bars.

Featuring exquisite cinematography by Ole Bratt Birkeland (JUDY), Director Eric Steel’s (THE BRIDGE) acclaimed film debut tells a powerful story of rebellion, spiritual and sexual awakening.
