Girls Can't Swim

Gwen is a free-spirited 15-year old who lives on the Brittany coast with her mother and fisherman father. Lise is her best friend and an intense city girl who joins Gwen every year for the summer holidays. But this summer, things will be different: in the turmoil following her estranged father's death, Lise flees her home to come and stay with Gwen for a couple of weeks. Their reunion is soon soured by Lise's resentment over Gwen's maturing interest in the opposite sex. The following days are filled with tenderness and rage as the two girls re-evaluate their friendship, clinging to their fragile bond as realities of adulthood threaten to tear it apart.
