Gay men Mikhail and Jamel and transsexual Stephanie are three lost souls who share an unbreakable bond, one that is made stronger by the risqué lives they lead in the seedy side streets and train stations of Paris where they use their bodies to turn tricks. Whilst battling with their own inner demons they also find solace in each other’s arms. When Stephanie receives a phone call to say her mother is unwell, the three lovers go to Stephanie's village deep in rural France. Once there, she begins to unravel some of the childhood events that have made her the person she is today.
From the director of Presque Rien, the subtle, highly stylized and thoroughly emotive Wild Side has drawn comparisons to AgnesGodard’s Beau Travail and Jacques Nolot’s Before I Forget.
